Which Program Should
You Choose?
Katimavik offers two programs, each lasting several months. Depending on the program, they are open to young people aged 17 to 30 who are legally residing in Canada, regardless of their origin, language or social background.
They are dedicated to those who wish to make a firm commitment to building their own future and that of their community.
National Experience
Katimavik's National Experience program offers a unique five-month journey in two locations. Dare to live with up to eleven young people from across Canada, and spend several days each week volunteering with community organizations.
Explore Your Potential, Discover Yourself
and Grow
In this immersive adventure, each day brings its share of discoveries and challenges. Dive into a community where your talents and personality will be highlighted. Within this new Katimavik “family,” learn to assert yourself, collaborate, and thrive.
Each week, you will have the opportunity to explore the world of civic engagement, environmental preservation, as well as Indigenous traditions and the topics of Truth and Reconciliation.
National Experience is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Service Corps program.
FuturePerfect
Katimavik’s employment program will help you develop your skills through real-life experiences and prepare you for your career.
FuturePerfect, Katimavik’s new program for young adults, will help you to develop your skills in the best possible way: with a real-life experience in the working world.
You’ll receive intensive training, gain hands-on experience and work with real employers. You’ll also get helpful answers to your questions about your career aspirations.
FuturePerfect aims to create equal and inclusive opportunities for all the young people who participate in it. The program lasts 14 weeks, including 2 weeks of employability training.
The program is funded by the Government of Canada through the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy initiative.
